![]() Been very active with my GPL rank chasing though, given I can do that at the unearthly hours I have free time nowadays Hi Mark Yes, all well, though busy with family and RL stuff which has been keeping me away from the ADC races for too long. Gtr2 S Cars mod#The mod already has its own sub-forum on RSC: See the bottom of post #1 in the link above. Useful if you fancy understanding more about the mod before trying it out. Gtr2 S Cars pdf#There's a nice PDF file describing the mod and the part 1 cars. Probably a good idea for anyone that races GTR2 regularly. Gtr2 S Cars install#I installed it in a fresh copy of my GTR2 installation (just copied the entire install folder to another location on my hard drive), so that I could keep a vanilla GTR2 install. To re-emphasise, you'll need an existing GTR2 installation plus your GTL disc during the mod install, but after that it will happily work without it. Should definitely interest the more historically inclined ADC members. There are some leading modders contributing to this, so definitely one to keep an eye on. ![]() Part 1 includes a subset of the GTL cars, while parts 2 and 3 will deliver the rest. Plus you get the other improvements available in the GTR2 engine (wet weather etc). More news! Part 1 of the Power & Glory mod for GTR2 has been released:Īs Dave said at the start of the thread the mod basically gives you the GTL cars but with the specs of the original cars, rather than the uprated specs from the current-day FIA series. But again, the GPLers among us will likely enjoy it. And this mod won't be for everyone, as it is quite a handful. It has more body lean than the Cortinas in GTL, and to me feels a bit more realistic for it's time than the GTL version.ĭon't get me wrong I love GTL, and it's not going anywhere. It twitches, it jumps and dives, it's difficult to control under braking, and it feels great! And the Cortina is a joy too. The 911 is very GPL-like, more so than any other car I have felt for GTR2 or GTL. There are two cars in the mod an IROC Porsche, and a Ford Cortina. It will never be used again just for the original install. ![]() One thing to keep in mind, and I think this is a great idea from the standpoint of protecting everyone's rights, is that you must have an original GTL disc to install the mod. If it doesn't, go to AutoSimSport and download the demo they have of the mod then I think you'll understand. In other words, the cars in GTL are intended as representations of what those cars would be like now in historic races this new mod is intended to provide the feel of the cars when they were in their era. Instead, it's intended to have the cars more closely represent their counterparts in the real years they raced. It's not a straight conversion of the GTL cars to GTR2. At first, I thought 'why?', but after reading the article I began to understand what the authors are trying to do. It's portrayed as a "GTL" conversion for GTR2. In it is an article regarding a new mod for GTR2. The latest issue of AutoSimSport is out ( ). ![]()
